new ISU club: Kendo
Andrea Kayser is involved in forming an ISU sport club dedicated to practicing the Japanese martial of of Kendo, which is "the way of the sword", or Japanese fencing. Kendo has deep cultural roots and is influenced by Zen. It stresses proper etiquette, strong spirit, and the cultivation of mind and body. There is a local sensei who has agreed to teach club members. Club members can be students, faculty, staff and community members. To be recognized as a club by ISU the group needs at least 12 people to sign up. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Andrea: kaysandr@isu.edu.
