Pumpkin Decorating Winner

Thanks to all those involved in the pumpkin decorating contest and bake sale! The club made some money and got our name out there.

The contenders for the pumpkin decorating contest and number of votes are as follows:

Pumpkin Decorating Contest


Please join us on Thursday, October 28th  from 10 – 2 PM for our Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Bring your pumpkin, carving utensils or some paints and have some Halloween fun! Please meet us at the entrance to the PSUB. The Pumpkin voted best design will win a Jamba Juice gift card! Donated pumpkins will be auctioned off. Find one and decorate your house this season! We will be selling hot cocoa and cider to help keep you warm, along with seasonal favorites like pumpkin cookies! See you there!

Potlatch Meeting

We will be making decisions concerning the Potlatch this Friday, October 22nd at noon in Graveley 150. So far we have 2 places contending: the Elks Lodge and the Senang Restaurant. If you want to have any input for the Potlatch please email the club (isu.studanth@gmail.com) or come to this meeting. Please feel free to ask around at local business for donation items to be auctioned off during this event. The Potlatch is a large fund raising opportunity along with a fun social event for the end of the semester. A date has not been set but we are looking at December 3rd, 4th, 11th or 12th. If you have a preference please let us know! See you Friday!

Club Meeting Friday, October 15th

Oct. 1st Meeting Notes

Hello! Here is a breakdown of what occurred at our last meeting:
- Please get me your dues ASAP! $5/semester or $10/ year. Remember we get matched 3 to 1 for these!
- We are looking for new t-shirt designs and are also considering other merchandising options. If you would like to contribute a design or idea please contact us. 
- We are beginning to plan for our Potlatch. We are considering these dates: December 3rd, 4th, 10th or 11th.If you would like to help in any way please contact us. Keep your eye our for interesting objects for the silent auction and the live auction! Keep in mind the club is open to donations for sale from individuals or businesses (it can't hurt to ask!). 
- A bylaw was voted on and passed into rule by unanimous decision. Those persons requesting funding from the club must meet these requirements: be an active member of the club (attending meetings, events and activities whenever possible), have dues paid at time of request, presenting at a conference (or similar event) OR will present the learned information to the club or department, will turn in funding request sheet prior to leaving for event, and will turn in all necessary receipts related to funding. Funding will be used by the student as needed. Case by case funding requests will be reviewed. The student can request a particular amount up to $300 (this amount may change based on the current budget status for the club).

REMINDER! Please join us this Friday, October 8th from 4 -5 pm in the North Fork Room in the PSUB for a visiting researcher talk by Dr. Mark Golitko from the Chicago Field Museum. Drinks and a chat after his talk at Goodies.

Event Reminder

Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday October 5th for a presentation by ISU Alumni Mary Anne Benner, in the Clearwater room in the PSUB from 1-2:30. This presentation will be on her work on two video documentaries: Street Artists on the Fringe of Survival: A Progressive Documentary Series. Please join us on Friday, October 8th for a visiting researcher talk by Dr. Mark Golitko from the Field Museum of Natural History who will be presenting his post-dorctoral work: Warfare, Economy, and Village Development during the Belgian Early Neolithic. Meet us in the North Fork room in the PSUB from 4-5 pm.
